STECKLE
APPLAUDS THE MINISTER OF JUSTICE
FOR
DEFENDING THE INSTITUTION OF MARRIAGE
OTTAWA – Paul Steckle, the
Member of Parliament for Huron-Bruce today commended the Minister of Justice
for his decision to appeal the July 12th, 2002 decision of the
Ontario Divisional Court on the constitutionality of the common law, opposite
sex meaning of marriage.
Given that the case is still before the courts, Steckle reserved
further comment on the matter – with the exception of his letter to the
Minister (enclosed) and his vote record in the House of Commons (June 8th,
2002).
